9 egrets all managed to get in the golden zone and in the same shot.

I saw the white egrets and followed them closely, hoping they will enter the golden zone.

Cousin of the big cat indeed.

Young and energetic. First time I saw this cat on the sand playground.

The happy swarm of 36. For the egrets, yesterday it was one yellow beak plus 30 white egrets and the maximum count of grey egrets was 6.

While shooting the egrets, especially the yellow beak one, singing of these black birds can be heard (near the banyan tree) but not seen. All of a sudden, there arose this swarm (more than 40 members) which flew from behind the banyan tree, to the fishermen's pier and then to the rocks. Only wehn reviewing the photos on monitor did I see the black kite seemed to be the leader of the pack in this shot.

70-300mm. Gather around the pavilion to take Christmas photo. One had a santa claus beard.

Shot this morning. The sky was already blue. 10 degree celsius.

Lamma delights 98 - birds

All taken on Dec 23 around 8:30 a.m. The egrets and yellow beak heron fished near the rocks of the small pier. Traffic was busy. White egrets chased after any who got a fish. The yellow beak returned to the pier's rock several times (I missed at least 2 times) and caught at least 3 fish. Both the white egret and the grey egret flew toward me and stayed on the sampan oak near me. (4 times) Even the black kite hovered around. Today's sun was scarce and yellow beak fished from the sampan only very briefly.

Lamma delights 97 - egrets

First seen yesterday, the heron with yellow beak and the grey heron were among the many white egrets which visited Lamma. The grey heron rested with the others in the rocks near fishermen's village. The white heron either fished with the others or stood on the sampan.

All taken in the morning. Dinner at HK Exhibition Centre on the same day.
